" Auto-Set " setting instructions

Important notice
New setting instructions for your Pulsar

In an effort to give you quality service, your Pulsar has been updated with an Auto/set Module. The magnet is no longer required.
Setting is accomplished solely by use of the buttons, while the timepiece is on the wrist. Each function is set independently. Month and date settings are initiated with the upper command button; hours, minutes and seconds with the lower command button.

When setting your Pulsar the following sequence is recommended:
1. Month
2. Date
3. Day of week (on DOW-models)
4. Hour and AM/PM Indication
5. Minute and Second

1. To set Month

Press Month/Date (upper or left) button three times in rapid succession to activate the month re-set mode. Release button, then pause a second or two. While display is still lit, press button again and hold, and hold, to advance month figure to desired setting. Release button when month setting is correct - the display will turn off automatically.

NOTE: The re-set display will remain lit for five seconds after upper button is released. If you want to change the date at this time, you can do so by pressing Time (lower or right) command button while the display is still lit. Release the button when the date setting is correct - the display will turn off automatically, indicating that the correct month and date are "locked" into your Pulsar.

2. To set date and AM/PM indicator

If you want to change the month at this time, you can do so by pressing Month/Date (upper or left) button while the display is still lit. The display will turn off automatically, indicating that the hour and minute re-sets are completed, and the seconds display is "locked" in at :00. Nothing will happen at this time until you press the Time (lower or right) command button again, which "unlocks" the seconds and re-activate the computer. (see second setting procedure).

Preliminary procedure for setting minute and second

First choose an accurate time source such as radio or TV signal, or your local telephone company. To allow for precise synchronization, select a minute and second setting to co-inside with an up-coming signal. Keep in mind that any minute re-set - even a 1 minute adjustment - will automatically recycle and "lock" in the seconds at :00.

5. To set minute and second

Minute:
Press Time (lower or right) button three times in rapid succession to activate the minute re-set mode. Release button, then pause a second or two. While display is still lit, press the button again and hold, to advance the minute figure to desired settings. Release button when hour setting is correct - the display will turn off automatically. Nothing will happened at this time until you press the Time (lower or right) button again, which "unlocks" the seconds an re-activates the computer.

NOTE: The re-set minute display will remain lit for five seconds after the lower button is released. If you want to change hour at this time, you can do so by pressing the Month/Date (upper or left) button while the display is still lit. Release the button when hour setting is correct - the display will turn off automatically, indicating that the hour and minute re-sets are completed, with the seconds display "locked" in at :00. Nothing will happen at this time until you press the Time (lower or right) command button again, which "unlocks" the seconds and re-activate the computer.

Seconds:
First advance the minute display at least one figure to activate the second re-set mode and "lock" at :00. When the minute re-set coincides with your master time source, press Time (lower or right) button once to "unlock" the seconds. Your computer has now been re-activated and is functioning normally.

A FINAL REMEMBER: Should you inadvertently press either button three times, the display will light, hold for five seconds, then go out. No functions will change.
